January has quickly flashed by and February is here.  February tends to be a cold month for the Memphis area. Luckily, there are many things to do in Memphis that happen indoors.

One of the many advantages of living in the great 901 is the many things to do in the Memphis area.  You can almost always find something to do, no matter your age or idea of entertainment.  You can live in Lakeland, Bartlett, or Arlington and easily submerge yourself in the 901 culture that you hear about.  In the Memphis area, many local businesses offer a variety of different events.

Family Fun

If you are looking for something to do with the little ones, The Cannon Center for the Performing Arts is providing great kid friendly shows this month!  Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is scheduled for February 4th at 6:30 PM.  You can also purchase tickets for Trolls Live! which is scheduled for February 22nd at 10 AM.  Both of these shows are sure to give the kiddos something to giggle and talk about.

Speaking of kiddos, it’s about that time to start planning for summer activities.  A good place to start your summer planning is at the Memphis Parent’s Camp Expo.  It is scheduled on February 29, 2020 from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Pink Palace Family of Museums.  There will be representatives from day camps, overnight camps, art camps, outdoor camps, and many more!  This is a great event to see what is offered locally for our 901 kids.

Have a night out

Of course, adults need some fun too.  Warm up your vocal chords and let your voice be heard every other Monday night at Karaoke Night at Celtic Crossing.  This month, Karaoke Night at Celtic Crossing happens February 3rd and February 17th, from 6 PM to 10 PM.  The fun continues every other Monday.  Even if singing isn’t your thing, go and support those who want to share their talents.

You can also head downtown and feel the Memphis vibe.  Besides the fantastic restaurants, you can show your Memphis spirit and support The Memphis Grizzlies and University of Memphis Tigers.  Both of these teams are on the court this month at The FedEx Forum.

Need a change of scenery for lunch?

Check out Food Truck Thursday!  On Thursdays, a variety of food trucks line up around downtown’s Court Square Park, from 11 AM to 2 PM, .   During the warmer months, there is entertainment while you dine under the big shade trees.  Even in the rain, you will see dedicated trucks ready to provide a very tasty meal.

There are many more fun family events, sporting events, and events for a fun night out.  Here is a more complete list of events in Memphis and the 901 area.  Living in the Memphis area provides so much entertainment with the wide variety of theaters, sports games, parks, restaurants, and so much more!
